Wind Tunnel Testing

GfA's expertise :

Wind pressure coefficient:
Determination of external (in special cases also internal) pressure coefficients on the building hull based on relevant national codes or based on our own measurements in a wind tunnel test either with and/or without surrounding buildings.

Local wind loads:
Zoning of local peak wind loads on glass and cladding according to codes or measured peak pressure data from wind tunnel tests and location/direction dependent meteorological data provided by local weather services. Derivation of local and overall average and peak wind loads.
Model work shop:
Construction of suitable models for experiments in boundary layer wind tunnels, scaled in the range from 1:500 to 1:100 and including the relevant surrounding environment. We also include all necessary test equipment e.g. pressure taps for stationary and time dependent recordings.
